FFF 2

*sigh*... well I'm so used to posting on Sundays it's tough to try to make the Friday deadline...
I'm really not doing so well with my goals. I feel like I haven't 'officially' begun FFF because I really wasn't mentally ready to do so.

I haven't really been watching the carbs much, haven't exercised, I've been forgetting to post here and haven't lost a thing... in fact I think I gained a pound (and not the good kind from muscle)

Oh, I did do gonoodle one morning with my kids though...

Ok, I really do want to take this seriously so.... how about a re-do...?

This week (after today, lol) I will ....

1. work out daily with the wii (that is Mon- Fri)
2. Limit carb in- take and eat lots of protein.
3. really try to stay faithful to updating on Fridays
4. Lose the 14 (15 now) pounds I want to before summer.

Ok, there it is. I didn't want to lie about it...

I'll give it my best so help me mentally prepare here guys. I could really use the encouragement. It's been a challenge lately as I'm battling fatigue and blues- likely because my thyroid levels are being adjusted.
To be on top of things and eating healthy/ exercising would likely help.

Hugs to you all,

Jlynne

OK, I'm editing this post to add to my goals list... I know, I know, but one of the ways I get past the blues is by NOT SITTING DOWN... literally I mean not sitting- keeping busy... (Not that I need a reason to not sit)...

Anyway... here is my new and improved goal list... and it's really just what I want to aim for it's not set in stone... but I do want to do my best to accomplish these things... so here goes...

1. Work out Monday - Friday with the wii or doing aerobics.
2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, limit carbs, high protein diet.
3. No long sitting binges (unless I'm having a break for a bit)
4. Wake early for quiet time and HAVE a quiet time- (no reading on phone or laptop)
5. keep up with commitments (these include my new years resolutions around the groups that I'm involved with).
6. Try to do some writing (when the energy/ motivation/ inspiration is present- anyhow I will try to put more effort here).

And I will add that my ultimate goal is to lose the (14-15 pounds I'm still carrying from pregnancy/ etc. ) but my everyday goal is to feel better and be more healthy physically so I have the right mindset here. I am not down on my body at all and actually rather like it mostly so life is good there.

Also, I will update every week but if I don't make the post by Friday I will definitely update by Sunday.

Thanks for the support ladies. I love having you guys behind me.

Hugs,

Jlynne

  1. Hi Jlynne,

You had a false start, that's ok. If your thyroid levels are being adjusted that would be a major contributor. It's not easy to exercise when you are battling fatigue. I hope things even out soon. My humble suggestion is that you take things slowly until the levels even out.

Those are some great goals and we are all cheering you on :)

    Hugs

    1. Thanks Roz,
The goals I have are not 'expected' rather just what I want to shoot for. J is leaving the ball in my court as well so he isn't enforcing these at all but encouraging me as are all of you.
      Thank you for your support!

  2. one step at a time. literally. no need to do ALL those things at the same time... just start with ONE day of exercise a week, for example. Keep it simple so that it's easy to keep on doing it.

    1. Thanks for the advice Fondles. I want to shoot for as much (or as little) as I can each day - so it's not all expected but just that I do what I can each day instead of doing nothing. The goals are flexible so I don't get discouraged yet I do strive to do as much as I can each day.

  3. You know the saying, " Tomorrow is another day to get it right". The main thing is you haven't thrown in the towel.

Just like ttwd, make FFF unique to you- that includes posting! So what if you don't post until Sunday? Big deal? Many people don't post on the weekend, so it gives others something different to read Sunday morning *ahem- like me*. In addition to that line of thinking, years ago when we all did something similar in blogland, the exercise/achievement goals were basically tag ons to our original posts. You might want to consider that as well. Cut yourself some slack! ( I mean who wants to exercise with a lump near their Whoo Ha anyway? ).

Attack the upcoming week, like only you can!

    1. Thanks willie,
Actually, I have been throwing in the towel a lot lately on many things. I know I'm getting down so I really need something to strive for to stay afloat. So I've added lots of goals but plan to be flexible with them so they are not ALL expected each day but SOMETHING is expected each day (as much or as little as I am able)- depending on the day.
Oh, and thanks, lol. That little problem is all better now.

  4. Jlynne: Yeah what they said.
Thyroid levels are a big deal. Be gentle with yourself, here.
What helps when you are battling the blues? Whatever it is, do more of that--that's what I aim to do and lowering expectations help me too.
    Huge hugs.

    1. You know Bleue,
It seems ever since I had our baby (she's almost 7 months now) my doctor can't seem to regulate my levels. My meds keep getting readjusted each time I have blood work and the levels just aren't normalizing.
Oh, I don't know, not sitting- keep moving. Having something to look forward to , doing things that make me feel peaceful and happy- coloring, writing, taking a bath, having daddy time with J, things like that.
I have lots of goals but they aren't concrete expectations. Just things to strive for each day to do as little or as much as I can- to keep me striving and not sinking.
Thanks for leaving a comment and for your encouragement!

  6. Hey Jlynne! These are all good things and as you know, I had a great start and am now stuck on my butt for 4-6 weeks. So, life happens. Feel what you are feeling and do what you are doing but be clear about this: YOU ARE NOT IN THIS ALONE. You have a whole pack of us that will look forward to your Friday (or Saturday or Sunday or Monday) updates. We're just happy to hear from you! Ok. Enough reading. Go march around the house or something. Btw, I'm terrible about drinking enough water and now I barely move off the couch so Eric lined (he seriously did this) about twenty mini-waters on the counter in the bathroom. Now every time I go in there, I have to drink a bottle before I come back out. It's an easy reminder and it's working...except the more I drink, the more I pee, and then the more I drink. Hmmm He's a smart man.

    1. Thanks Amy,
Today went... ok. It started out better then it ended as far as carbs and didn't get the exercise in.
I'm so happy that Eric is with you and you're feeling better. I do better with J around as well.
Thanks for the encouragement! Make sure you drink that water... I want to jear all about that awesome trip he's taking you on. Hmm . . . Maybe I can get a retreat out of J....

  7. Hey, at least you're being honest with yourself. I find that when I add too many goals at once I can't deal. So I work on like 2-3 at a time. Then once I have those down pat, something new will be picked to work on. This is not just for fitness, it's kinda how Sir and I do our D/s, hahah!

    1. That sounds like a good way to do it. I don't know- sometimes when I'm unmotivated I have to add EVERYTHING and then just get as much done as I can. It seems odd but if I have too few goals I tend to procrastinate thinking I don't have much to do and then I get nothing done. I seem to go into overdrive with a laundry list of things to do and somehow I usually manage to get most of it accomplished. I just love torturing myself this way...

  8. I love reading about all of you & the support you show one another. JLynne, Great on you setting your Goals and I wish you and all of you Big Success! I half thought about joining, but I suck right now at having the motivation I would certainly need. I love to hear all of the encouragement each of you offer to one another.

You should join! Hell, I had no motivation when we began and then two weeks in booyah!
Join and do it at your own pace. It helps having a support network.
